Sonneborn runs well
West Greene graduate Mikayla Sonneborn and Paige Callahan placed first overall for Tulane University at the University of New Orleans XC Relay last Friday. Sonneborn, a sophomore, and Callahan, a junior, ran 3K apiece with a combined time of 23:43.283.
“I wanted to pair the women’s team up as I have seen them from top to bottom,” said Tulane director of cross country and track and field Eric Peterson. “I think Mikayla and, of course, Paige were the top. Mikayla came back from an impressive track season. I think those two kids right now have demonstrated good leadership and strength at the front of our team.”
Keany top PAC runner
Waynesburg freshman Brendan Keany was honored by the Presidents’ Athletic Conference as the men’s cross country Runner of the Week. Keany won Westminster’s Fisher Invitational in 28:42.5, his first collegiate race.
