Trojans down Bishop Canevin, 28-14

California scored the first 21 points Friday night on its way to a 28-14 Black Hills Conference road victory at Bishop Canevin.

Corey Adams scored on a 12-yard run just two minutes into the game, and the Trojans doubled their lead about six minutes later when James Bongornio scored on a 22-yard run.

As it had in the first quarter, California (1-3, 1-3) scored early in the second quarter when Lester McGriff sprinted 48 yards into the end zone at 9:55.

Bishop Canevin broke the string with Reed Relosky’s 13-yard scoring pass to Sean Fitzgerald at 6:33, but Demetri Clements countered 4½ minutes later with a 25-yard scoring run.

Relosky capped the scoring in the third quarter with his second touchdown pass, a 79-yard effort to Zach Cortese.

Clements led the Trojans with 132 yards rushing on 13 attempts. California outgained Bishop Canevin on the ground, 316-62.

Relosky completed 10-of-22 passes for 174 yards.
