Maples fall to Bentworth, 16-1
Mapletown lost a non-section game to visiting Bentworth, 16-1, on Tuesday in four innings.
Winning pitcher Kirk Stechly struck out three batters for Bentworth, while Mapletown’s Patrick Clites took the loss.
Hunter Neely hit two doubles for Bentworth, while teammate Jake Rothka also hit a double.
The Maples (1-2) travels to Avella on Thursday to open up Section 1-A play.
