West Greene, J-M split Section 6-AA meet
Jefferson-Morgan (boys) 100, West Greene 40; West Greene (girls) 99, Jefferson-Morgan 41 — The Rockets and Lady Pioneers had an easy time Thursday afternoon, winning a Section 6-AA meet at Waynesburg.
The Jefferson-Morgan boys had first-place finishes from Chase Kovalcheck (110 high hurdles, 20.53; 300 intermediate hurdles, 51.71), Jake Earnest (shot put, 42-5; discus, 105-5½),Nathaniel Bianchi (triple jump, 34-1), Rece Henneman (javelin, 131-0), and Micah Stanko (long jump, 18-1½; 200, 22.47).
The Pioneers finishes first included Ben Scott (100, 11.68), Brandon Wilson (400, 1:00.0; 800, 2:31), and Kolton Rush (high jump, 5-4).
The West Greene girls’ first-place finishes included Emily Courtwright (100 high hurdles, 19.03; 300 intermediate hurdles, 51.65), Faith Cross (100, 13.06; 200, 29.81; long jump, 13-7), Rebecca Phillips (1,600, 6:10), Mikhayla Post (800, 2:46), and Kaitlyn Kreuzer (triple jump, 29-0; high jump, 4-4).
Shelby Rosinsky (3,200, 15:03) and Kayla Yorko (shot put, 28-7; discus, 73-9) finished first for the Lady Rockets.
Both the West Greene boys and girls are now 2-3 in the section.
