West Greene places several at Monessen
West Greene thinclads fared very well at the Monessen Invitational Track Meet Saturday.
Rebecca Phillips won two individual events and ran part of a second-place relay team to lead the way. She won the 1,600 in 6:06 and was followed by teammates Mikhayla Post, who was third in 6:41, and Haylee Miller, who was sixth in 6:53.
Phillips also wonthe 3,200 in 14:08, ahead of teammate Laura Wise, who was sixth in 19:13. Phillips also ran a leg of the 3,200 relay team, with Post, Sarah and Emily Cortwright, that finished second in 11:08.
Faith Cross finished third in the 100 in 13.34 and fifth in the 200 in 30.0, while Emily Cortwright took first in the 300 hurdles, finishing in 51.44. Post was second (2:51) and Emily Cortwright fourth (3:00) in the 800.
The 1,600 relay team of Post, Cross, Sarah and Emily Cortwright placed third in the 1,600 relay in 5:04.
Faith Cross was third in the long jump, with a 14-feet, 7-inch effort, while Ashley Cross placed fifth in the shot put, with a 24-feet, 11-inch throw.
Kaitlyn Kruezer was fourth in the triple jump (30 feet) and high jump (4-feet, 4-inches).
On the boys side, Kolton Rush took third in the long jump (17-feet, 4-inches) and fifth in the high jump (5-feet, 4-inches) and Bray Jackson was fourth with a javelin toss of 137-feet, 3-inches.
The 3,200 relay team of Brandon Seaton-Young, Colton Stockdale, Tyler Gilbert and Brandon Wilson took third in 11:01.
Brandon Wilson placed fourth in the 800 run in 2:36 and fifth in the 400 in 59.62. Jon Coote was fourth in the shot put, with a 37-foot throw, while Beau Jackson was sixth (34-feet, 11-inches) and placed fourth in the discus (103-feet, 4-inches), while teammate Phil Coote was sixth (94-feet, 10-inches).
