Red Raiders hold off Greensburg Salem, 11-10

Uniontown 11, Greensburg Salem 10 — Zack Stashick left the tying run on second base as the Red Raiders held on Wednesday for a key Section 2-AAA home victory.

Uniontown (5-3, 5-6) scored three runs in the bottom of the fifth inning for an 11-6 lead, but the Golden Lions rallied in the last inning with four runs.

Staschick picked up the final out of the fourth inning, and then finished the game for the win. He allowed four runs with six strikeouts and two walks.

Garret Fox had a strong offensive game for the Red Raiders with a solo home run in the third and run-scoring triple in the first. He was 3-for-4 with three RBI.

Joe Carpeal had an RBI double in the bottom of the third. Luke Wallace had a single and three RBI.

Max Tonzurick belted a solo home run in the top of the second for the Golden Lions (5-4).

Uniontown hosts Waynesburg Central on Friday afternoon.
