Warriors shut out Connellsville, 12-0

Penn-Trafford 12, Connellsville 0 — Penn-Trafford put the game away with six runs in the bottom of the third inning Monday afternoon, beating the rain showers and visiting Connellsville in five innings for a Section 2-AAAA victory.

Tyler Smith was the man for Penn-Trafford (6-3, 12-3). The Canisius recruit allowed just two hits — singles to Evan Onusko and Ryan Huey — with eight strikeouts and two walks. He also blasted a two-run home run in the bottom of the first inning and a three-run shot in the third inning, and added an RBI single.

Dom Cococelli hit a two-run home run in the bottom of the third.

Michael Durnstine (1-4) took the loss, going 2 2/3 innings with three strikeouts and one walk.

Connellsville (3-7, 7-9) hosts Hempfield on Wednesday.
