Rohanna opens with 3-over 75
One hole does not a round of golf make, but one wayward hole Friday was the difference between an even-par round and an 18 holes played over par for Rachel Rohanna in the New England Charity Classic presented by PTC in Goffstown, N.H.
Rohanna carded a triple bogey-8 on No. 1, her 10th hole, at Stonebridge Country Club to go with two bogeys and two birdies to finish at 3-over 75. The Waynesburg Central graduate is sitting right at the cut line in a tie for 70th place.
American Lacey Agnew holds the first-round lead at 4-under 68.
Rohanna opened on No. 10 and continued her run of carding a birdie on her opening hole to four rounds with a birdie-4. She gave the stroke back with a bogey-5 on No. 12 and then closed with six pars to go out in even-par 36.
Rohanna ran into trouble as she made the turn onto her back nine holes on No. 1. The triple bogey pushed her to 3-over for the round. Things continued to slide with a bogey-4 on No. 4, although she righted the ship with a birdie-4 on the next hole. She finished with four pars to come back in 3-over 39.
Rohanna hit 9-of-14 fairways, averaging 281.5 yards on her drives. She hit 13-of-18 greens in regulation and needed 34 putt to complete her round.
