Lady Trojans breezes past Valley, 82-14

California jumped out to a 22-3 lead in the first period and never looked back in breezing past Valley, 82-14, in the Slippery Rock Tournament consolation game on Saturday.

The Lady Trojans (1-1) led 48-9 and halftime and held Valley (0-2) scoreless in the third period in going up 72-9 heading into the final frame.

Lyndsey Huhn paced coach Chris Minerd’s squad with 21 points and was also named to the all-tournament team.

Freshman Bailey Vig tallied 16 points and Kat Pankratz had 11 for California. Another freshman, Love’ Porter scored nine points and Jenna Miller added eight as the Lady Trojans put 10 players in the scoring column.

California host Frazier on Monday at 7:30 p.m.
