Trojans shut down Mikes in second half

California got 19 points from Kass Taylor and Tray Matthews added 10, as the Trojans beat Carmichaels, 48-29, in non-section boys basketball Tuesday night.

California clung to a one-point lead at halftime before blanking the Mikes in the third quarter and limiting them to five in the second half.

Liam Shea led the Mikes (0-2) with 11 points.

California (3-0) travels to Brownsville for a non-section game tonight, while Carmichaels hosts Geibel Catholic in another non-section match-up.
