Scotties top Lions, remain unbeaten

Unbeaten Southmoreland overcame a 38-36 deficit after three periods to defeat host Greensburg Salem, 56-51, in a Section 3-AAA boys basketball battle on Friday night.

The first-place Scotties (6-0, 3-0) outscored the Lions 20-13 in the final frame to pull out the victory.

Ben Niemiec led Southmoreland with 17 points and Tommy Pisula added 11.

Antonia Ferrari and Delaine Hughes paced GS (1-5, 1-2) with 14 and 11 points, respectively.
