Lady Gators topple Mapletown, 52-26

Karly Judy and Keyonna McCrae scored 14 points apiece to help lead host Geibel Catholic over Mapletown, 52-26, in a Section 3-A girls basketball game on Monday night.

The win pulls the Lady Gators (3-2, 2-2) even with the Lady Maples (2-5, 2-2) in the middle of the section standings.

Geibel took an 11-5 lead in the first period and gradually pulled away from there, leading 25-15 and halftime and 42-23 after three periods.

Grace Nowicki added 12 points for the Lady Gators.

Brook Duranko led Mapletown with six points.

Geibel is in action again Friday when it hosts the Geibel Catholic Christmas Tournament. The Lady Gators take on Wilkinsburg at 5 p.m. in the first game. Southmoreland and Waynesburg Central clash in the second game at 7 p.m.
