West Mifflin hit 16 3-pointers and exploded for 29 first-period points in defeating host Laurel Highlands, 93-65, in Section 4-AAA boys basketball action on Tuesday night.
Aaron Adams hit six of the undefeated Titans’ treys in tying for game-high honors with 26 points. Teammate Karlyn Garner had a pair of 3-pointers in also scoring 26. Josh Long, who made a trio of treys, added 15 points for West Mifflin (6-0, 4-0).

The Titans, who led 29-11, 51-33 and 66-50 at the breaks, impressed LH coach Rick Hauger.
“They’re extremely athletic, pressure you the whole game and are very well coached,” Hauger said. “They’re pretty disciplined in a fast-paced way. We tried to make them beat us from the outside and obviously they shot the ball tremendously.”
One bright spot on the night for Laurel Highlands was its JV team, which remained undefeated at 6-0 with a 68-44 win thanks in large part to Hudson Novak who scored a game-high 23 points.
