W&J outhits Yellow Jackets in 11-6 victory
Washington & Jefferson 11, Waynesburg 6 — Washington & Jefferson erased a 2-0 deficit with four runs in the bottom of the first inning Thursday afternoon as the Presidents rallied to a Presidents’ Athletic Conference victory over visiting Waynesburg.
Waynesburg (10-11, 14-23) scored a pair of runs in the first inning on Clay Roman’s run-scoring single and a wild pitch.
The Presidents (19-2, 24-12) stormed back in the bottom of the inning with four runs and added cushion in the second with two more runs.
W&J increased its lead to 9-2 in the sixth inning, but the Yellow Jackets mounted a comeback with four runs in the top of the seventh. The Presidents countered with two runs in the bottom of the seventh.
Crum went 3-for-5 with a run scored for the Yellow Jackets. Jonathan Kletzli was 2-for-4 with two runs scored.
