Carmichaels 9, West Greene 1 — The Mikes clinched a Section 1-A playoff berth Friday afternoon behind the strong pitching effort of Brandon Lawless.

Carmichaels improved to 6-1 in the section and 9-1 overall, and has doubleheader Monday (home with Mapletown, away at Avella) before a rematch against California on Tuesday to close the regular season.

Lawless pitched five innings, allowing no runs on five hits with six strikeouts and two walks.

Mike Blasinsky went 3-for-4 with three RBI for the Mikes. Brennen McMinn had a double and single. Cory Fuller had an RBI double.

Ben Carlisle accounted for West Greene’s lone run with a home run in the bottom of the seventh inning. He also took the loss.
