Bulldogs outlast Burgettstown, 11-8

Beth-Center 11, Burgettstown 8 — Seth Hvizda hit two home runs in the top of the second inning Saturday to lead the Bulldogs to a Section 2-AA road victory over the Blue Devils.

Hvizda led off the inning with a home run and capped the big rally with a two-run shot.

Trailing 9-0 going into the bottom of the fourth inning, the Blue Devils (3-9, 4-10) scored eight runs over the next two innings.

Beth-Center (5-7, 6-10) gained a little cushion with two runs in the top of the seventh.

Lane Ziker started, and then finished the game for his first save of the year. Lucas Zellie pitched the middle innings to improve his record to 3-1.

Aaron Ankney, Zellie, and Tyler Dyer all doubled for the Bulldogs. Evan Smith went 4-for-4 with three RBI.
