Local players picked for WBCA all-star games
The 11th annual WPIAL Baseball Coaches Association (WBCA) all-star games are scheduled for Sunday, June 8, at Kelly Automotive Park in Butler and a big handful of local players were selected to participate.
The Class A all-stars plays Class AA at 1 p.m. and the Class AAA all-stars face Class AAAA at 4 p.m. All players will be honored at a banquet on June 5 at Southpointe Hilton Garden Inn.
Ron Baron, Josh Luko and Jake Columbus (California), Logan Bowman (Jefferson-Morgan), Ty Cole and Brandon Lawless (Carmichaels), and Travis Sanner (Frazier) are on the Class A squad.
Beth-Center’s Seth Hvizda and Brownsville’s Ryan Novotney were picked for the Class AA team.
Laurel Highlands’ Drew DeBerry, Belle Vernon teammates Parker Lynn and Dylan Pietrantoni, and Uniontown’s Zack Stashick are members of the Class AAA squad.
