Nicholson cards ace

Aaron Nicholson recorded a hole in one recently at Mystic Rock Golf Club.

Nicholson, of Addison, recorded the ace on No. 12 at the Nemacolin Woodlands Resort course. He used a 9 iron on the 127-foot, par-3 hole.

Playing with Nicholson at the time were Sam Synder, William Augstine and Richard Terlisner.

LH tops Belle Vernon

Colby Tarr scored a pair of second-half goals to help lead Laurel Highlands over host Belle Vernon, 2-1, in the finals of the Leopards’ soccer tournament on Sunday.

Tarr scored at the 17:24 mark and again at the 14:32 mark to lift coach Jerry Rogers’ team to the victory.

The Mustangs are back in action again today when they host Brownsville in a Section 6-AA match at 7:30 p.m.
