Jefferson-Morgan trailed 14-7 at the half Friday night, but Avella scored 12 points in the fourth quarter to salt away a 26-7 Tri-County South Conference victory over the visiting Rockets.

Touchdown runs by Nick Kusich and Santino Paris gave the Eagles (2-1, 2-1) a 14-0 lead, but the Rockets cut the deficit in half when Kailan Foster returned the kickoff after Paris’ score 75 yards for a touchdown.

Paris had his hand in the final two Avella touchdowns in the fourth quarter on a 5-yard pass to Tyler Frasier and 5-yard run.

The Rockets slip to 1-2 in the conference.
