By The 1 min read

Cody Nuzzo hit a 50-yard field goal to send the game to overtime, but California University of Pa. gave up a 32-yard field goal in overtime and Cal lost a PSAC football game at Bloomsburg, 24-21.

The winning kick came from Bloomsburg’s Braden Drexler. It was from 32 yards out.

Cal got two touchdown passes from quarterback James Harris, one going to Desimon Green from a yard out and the other to Kowan Scott covering 25 yards. Harris completed 23 of 34 passes for 252 yards.

The Vulcans also got 82 rushing yards from Terrell Roberson, but that was overshadowed by Bloomsburg’s Eddie Mateo, who gained 106 yards and scored on runs of 12 and three yards.

Cal scored 11 points in the last 4:32 of regulation to fore the extra session, as Harris hooked up with Scott for the touchdown and the two-point conversion at 4:32 before Nuzzo’s game-tying kick as regulation time expired.

Branko Busick led Cal with 12 tackles, while Belle Vernon’s Spencer Lynn followed with 11 stops.

Defending PSAC champion Bloomsburg improved to 2-0, while Cal fell to 1-1.
