Harris honored by PSAC
California (Pa.) quarterback James Harris was named the PSAC-West Offensive Player of the Week after he led the Vulcans to a 56-34 victory Saturday afternoon at Shippensburg.
Harris completed 24-of-33 pass attempts for 439 yards and two touchdowns with no interceptions. He became only the fifth quarterback in school history to top 400 passing yards and was only four yards shy of tying the single-game record.
Harris had a big first half against Shippensburg, completing 21-of-26 attempts for 363 yards and the two touchdowns.
He leads the PSAC with a 167.4 efficiency rating and is third in the PSAC and first in the PSAC-West with 323.7 yards per game.
Cross country
Gerber finishes 12th
Uniontown graduate Julie Gerber was the first Waynesburg runner to complete the Dickinson Invitational 4K course Saturday, finishing 12th in the field of over 300 runners with a time of 14:59.85.
Annette Aho was the first Yellow Jacket woman to complete the 6K course, finishing 49th in the field of 265 runners with a time of 24:35.79.
The Yellow Jackets finished 11th in the 4K race and 15th in the 6K race.
Keany leads Waynesburg
Waynesburg’s Brendan Keany finished 31st Saturday in the 4K race with a time of 12:41.39 at the Dickinson Long/Short Invitational. The Yellow Jackets placed 16th in the 4K race.

Cal’s Crockett honored
California University of Pa.’s Chelsea Crockett was named the PSAC Soccer Player of the Week after finishing with six points in a pair of shutout victories on the road.
Crockett scored two goals, her fifth career multi-goal game, in the Vulcans’ 2-0 win at Indiana (Pa.). She then assisted on both goals in a 2-0 road win at Clarion.
The senior midfielder is now the sixth player in school history to score at least 25 career goals.
