Cree stars in Lady Maples’ win over Hundred

By The 1 min read

Makenzie Cree tossed a three-hitter and smacked a two-run single in Mapletown’s five-inning, 13-1 non-section softball win over visiting Hundred (W.Va.) on Thursday.

Hundred led 1-0 after one inning before the Lady Maples (3-3) exploded for nine runs in the second. They added one in the third and three more in the fourth before Cree closed out the game with a scoreless fifth to invoke the 10-run mercy rule.

Abby Shipley and Jordan Adams both hit an RBI double for Mapletown, while Abby McIntire chipped in with a run-scoring single.

Cree struck out seven and walked none.

Paige Shriver was the losing pitcher for the Lady Hornets.
