Jacobs breaks own mark, LH boys fifth at Tri-State

The Laurel Highlands boys track team finished fifth our of 26 teams in the Tri-State Invitational Track Meet Saturday at West Mifflin.

The Mustangs got a first-place finish from Dontay Jacobs, who broke his own school record by winning the 400 in 50.15. His previous record was 50.40. Jacobs also took third in the 200 (23.38).

Chad Livingston gave LH another win with a 6-2 effort in the high jump and Christian Jones took second with a 6-0 jump.

Colby Tarr also got a second in the 300 hurdles, with a 40.90 time. Ryan Gesso took third in the javelin with a 164-0 effort.

Cassandra Phelan took second in the girls pole vault with a 10-6 effort.

Ashley Galderisi placed seventh in the 200 in 28.01 and Anna Basinger placed eighth in the girls javelin with a throw of 103-7.
