Mikes have easy time with Mapletown in 17-2 win
Carmichaels put up nine runs in the bottom of first inning Monday afternoon as the Mikes ran away with a 17-2 Section 1-A victory in three innings against Mapletown.
The Maples (0-3, 1-5) actually led 1-0 heading into the bottom of the first inning, but the Mikes stormed into the lead in the bottom of the inning.
Carmichaels (1-0, 5-0) scored five in the bottom of the second and Mapletown countered with another run in the top of the third inning.
The Mikes enacted the 3-inning, 15-run mercy rule with two outs in the third inning with three runs.
Mike Ludrosky (2-0) went two innings for the win, striking out three and walking two. Jacob Wamsley finished the game with two strikeouts and one walk.
Joel Spishock had a double, two singles and scored three runs for the Mikes. Darren Krause added a double. Michael Blasinsky had a pair of singles as seven different players had hits for Carmichaels.
Patrick Clites took the loss for the Maples.
