Knights’ bats come alive in 11-1 win over Connellsville

Norwin scored six runs in the bottom of the sixth inning Wednesday afternoon to invoke the mercy rule as the Knights defeated visiting Connellsville, 11-1, in Section 2-AAAA action.

Reno Rainey blasted two home runs for Norwin (7-2, 9-3), a two-run shot in the first inning and a three-run blast in the fifth.

Roy Belchick went 4-for-4 with four singles, Ethan Sikora had a pair of doubles and Brad Lucas added a double.

Derek Orndorff drove in Dakota McWilliams in the fifth inning for the Falcons’ only run.

Connellsville slips to 3-6 in the section and 8-8 overall.
