Sagl gains more honors
California (Pa.) junior pitcher Alex Sagl was selected as the Louisville Slugger/National Fastpitch Coaches Association Division II National Pitcher of the Week for games played April 20-26.
Sagl pitched 27 innings, allowing only four runs (three earned) for an ERA of 0.78. She struck out 47 and went 4-0 with two saves.
She was recently named the PSAC-West Pitcher of the Year for the third straight season. Sagl is 16-4 with a conference-leading 1.33 ERA. She has struck out a conference-high 176 batters in 126.1 innings.
Emily Price was named the PSAC-West Freshman of the Year. The infielder is fourth in the conference with a .684 slugging percentage and is seventh with 32 RBI.
Sophomore outfielder Kaity Finley, junior first baseman Lindsay Reicoff, senior utility player Becca Reinhart, and junior third baseman Natalya Smarra were all named to the All-PSAC West First-Team.

Cal places 6 on PSAC team
California (Pa.) had a conference-leading five first-team selections with a total of six players earning All-PSAC West conference honors.
Seniors Matt Peters (shortstop) and Justin Taylor (starting pitcher), juniors Mick Fennell (outfielder) and David Marcus (first baseman), and freshman designated hitter Chris Wastchak were all named to the first team. Jack Dennis, a junior starting pitcher, was named to the second team for the second consecutive season.
Dennis receives award
California (Pa.) junior starting pitcher Jack Dennis was honored with the Bruce Dal Canton Pitching Award, seventh year the honor has been bestowed in honor of the veteran pitcher who passed away in October 2008 from esophageal cancer.
Dennis was honored for the second straight year.
He tied for the team lead in wins with four and led the staff with a 4.09 ERA. Dennis has a career record of 12-4 with a 3.27 ERA in 29 appearances (24 starts).
