Amber shoots 40 to pace Trojan golfers

Michael Amber was medalist with a 40 on Cedarbrook’s Gold Course to lead California to a 235-298 win over Jefferson-Morgan in the Section 8-AA opener for both teams Monday.

Nathaniel Luketich followed Amber with a 43. Josh Peters (50), Jacob Cannon (51) and Richie Stimmel (51) closed out the scoring for Cal (1-0).

Gage Clark’s 48 set the pace for Jefferson-Morgan (0-1), while Nikki Venick followed with a 51. Casey Wilson shot 65, Bobby Coles shot 66 and Gavin Wood had a 68.
