Kalsey honored
Westminster senior Marissa Kalsey was named the inaugural PAC Women’s Indoor Track & Field Field Athlete of the Week after finishing first in the pole vault last Friday at the Youngstown State Icebreaker for the second-straight year.
The Waynesburg Central graduate cleared 12 feet-2¾ (3.73m). Her jump ranks second among all Division III vaulters this season.

Buxton top wrestler
Waynesburg sophomore Tristan Buxton was named the PAC Wrestler of the week after winning the 125-pound crown last Saturday at the Ohio Northern Invitational.
Buxton went 5-0, including an 8-0 major decision, 21-6 technical fall, and 9-1 major decision to advance to the semifinals. Buxton defeated top-seeded Michael Schmidt, of Olivet, to advance to the finals against Brad Taton of the host school. Buxton defeated Taton, 7-5, for the title.
Waynesburg places six
Led by Tristan Buxton’s title at 125 pounds, Waynesburg University placed six wrestlers in the top four Saturday at the Ohio Northern Invitational.
Gordan Bieber also medaled at 125 pounds by finishing third with a 5-1 record.
Beth-Center graduate Zach Swarrow fought back through the consolations to finish third at 133 pounds.
Also finishing third was Jake Evans at heavyweight after recording a 4-1 record with three pins and a 9-0 major decision.
Filippo Crivelli (141) and Ryan Shank (184) had fourth-place finishes with 3-2 records.
Waynesburg placed seventh as a team out of 15 squads after compiling 98½ points. Campbellsville took home the team title with 145 points.
