Big Mac swimmers sweep meet from Uniontown
The Uniontown boys and girls swim teams had a tough road trip Thursday night after being swept by Canon-McMillan in a non-section meet.
The Big Macs defeated the Uniontown boys, 99-68, while the Canon-McMillan girls handed the Lady Raiders a 100-78 loss.
Rachel VanNosdeln (200 freestyle, 2:13.58), Elizabeth Klingensmith (100 butterfly, 1:01.53), Alexandra Meadows (500 freestyle, 6:25.02), and Molly Rabon (100 breaststroke, 1:30.23) all had individual first-place finishes for Uniontown. VanNosdeln, Meadows, Valerie Grimes and Klingensmith won the 400 freestyle in 4:06.03.
The Red Raiders’ Jonathan DesVarro won the diving competition with 95.30 points. Caleb Patton finished first in the 100 backstroke (1:29.62) and Cameron Kutek won the 100 breaststroke (1:41.09). Riley Gilleland, Evan Klatt, Chase Bowen and Jonathan Sharp finished first in the 400 freestyle with a time of 3:52.34.
Both the boys and girls slip to 0-2 overall.
