Ringgold downs Lady Leopards, 50-37

The Belle Vernon girls couldn’t hold onto a first-quarter lead Thursday night, losing on the road to Ringgold, 50-37, in the Section 4-AAA opener.

The Lady Leopards (0-1, 1-3) led 15-8 after the first quarter, but Ringgold rallied for a 21-18 lead at halftime. The Lady Rams then outscored Belle Vernon in the second half, 29-19.

Caitlyn Trombley led the Lady Leopards with 13 points. Keelsey Green added 11.

Bailey Cooper scored a game-high 19 points for the Lady Rams. Ashley Brisco added 16.
