Kass Taylor recorded a double-double with 31 points and 11 rebounds as California rolled past host Avella, 62-31, in a Section 3-A boys basketball game on Tuesday night.

The Trojans (4-1, 2-0) took a 23-3 lead in the opening frame and stayed in control the rest of the way.

Johnny DeFranco added 14 points for California.

The Eagles (1-4, 1-1) were led by Steven Miller with 10 points.
