Colonials go 4-1 at Moon Duals
Albert Gallatin had three wrestlers finish at 5-0 in the Moon Duals on Saturday.
Coach Duane Dupont’s Colonials won four matches and lost one in the tournament.
AG (5-2) defeated Mars (54-12), Montour (40-31), West Greene (54-24) and Taylor Allderdice (63-12). Norwin topped the Colonials, 44-24.
Codie Lavery won all five of his matches at 132. He picked up four falls and a decision. Lavery’s season record is 9-3. Teammate Tim Wallace earned five victories at 160, with four pins and a decision to improve to 10-1 this season.
David Wallace was 5-0 with three pins, one decision and a forfeit to improve 10-2 on the season.
Hunter Milligan was 4-1 at 138, Mike Standish was 4-1 at 145 for AG, and Corey Dodson was 3-2 at 285. Dodson wrestled two of the top-ranked grapplers at his weight tough, losing both matches by decision.
Dupont’s squad will prepare this upcoming week for the Southmoreland Holiday Christmas Tournament, which takes place Dec. 29 and 30 at Southmoreland High School.
The Colonials return to section play on Jan. 4 at Thomas Jefferson.
