Lady Gators hold off Mapletown, 43-33

The visiting Lady Gators pulled away in the third quarter and then held off Mapletown in the final eight minutes Monday night as Geibel Catholic returned home with a 43-33 victory in Section 3-A action.

Geibel Catholic (2-2, 3-4) led 10-9 after the first quarter and 16-15 at halftime before pulling away in the third quarter for a 30-17 lead. The Lady Maples (1-3, 1-7) held a 16-13 advantage in the fourth quarter.

Grace Nowicki scored a game-high 19 points for the Lady Gators. Sidney Anderson added 12.

Abby Antill led the Lady Maples with 12.
