Scotties defeat Warriors in OT, 66-53

The Southmoreland boys needed overtime, but the extra effort was worth the trouble as the Scotties defeated Elizabeth-Forward, 66-53, on the final night of the Charleroi Federal Holiday Tournament.

The Warriors led 23-10 after the first quarter and 36-23 at halftime. The lead remained at 13 into the fourth quarter when the Scotties (7-4) rallied to tie the game in regulation with a 19-6 advantage in the final eight minutes.

Southmoreland then outscored the Warriors (3-9) in overtime, 15-2.

Brandon Stone scored a game-high 29 points for the Scotties. Doug Leighty finished with 13 and Zak Leighty added 10.

Trey Mitchell led the Warriors with 18 points. Connor Paoletti scored 16 and Jacob Jenkins added 12.
