Raiders outlast Frazier, 62-56

Both Frazier and Waynesburg Central had secured Section 4-AA playoff berths when the met Monday night, but the Raiders kept the eyes on a share of the section title with a 62-56 win over the visiting Commodores.

Waynesburg (13-6) improves to 8-3 in the section, one game back in the loss column behind Charleroi and Brownsville.

Frazier is now 5-5 in the section and 9-10 overall and holds a two-game lead over Beth-Center with two games left, but the Commodores swept the Bulldogs for control of the tie-breaker.

Waynesburg led 16-12 after the first quarter and held on for a 25-12 halftime lead. The Raiders cemented the win in the second half with a 37-33 advantage.

Dom Sarra scored a game-high 23 points for the Raiders. Mitch Warman added 16.

L.A. Ross led the Commodores with 18 points. Damon Lovis finished with 15 and Caleb Cox added 10.
