Red Raiders close strong to beat Connellsville, 81-56

Uniontown exploded for 30 points in the fourth quarter Saturday afternoon to pull away from Connellsville for an 81-56 non-section road victory.

Connellsville was close throughout, trailing 13-11 after the first quarter and 34-30 at halftime. The Falcons (2-11) cut the deficit to three points with an 18-17 third quarter.

The Red Raiders finished strong, though, outscoring their hosts in the final eight minutes, 30-8.

Lyric Ellis led Uniontown (11-1) with a game-high 24 points. Joe Campbell finished with 20 and Deaundre Winfrey added 15.

Brock Bonadio scored a team-high 17 points for the Falcons. Griffin Thompson finished with 13 points and Colby Shipley added 10.
