Mitch’s takes one from Mill Run

Mitch’s Bail Bonds scored all five of its runs without a base hit in its 5-3 win over Mill Run Tuesday in the Fayette County Baseball League.

Brian Fisher was the winning pitcher. He allowed six hits and three runs, with eight strikeouts and two walks, in seven innings of work. Reliever Garrett Brooks took the loss for Mill Run, which committed four errors.

Mitch’s took a 2-1 lead with a pair of runs in the top of the fifth inning when K.C. Zajicek’s sacrifice fly scored Johnny DeFranco and Adam Jacko scored on a bases-loaded walk. After Mill Run tied it, Mitch’s took a 3-2 lead when Zach Skatell scored on a bases-loaded walk.

The winners added two in the top of the seventh when Louden Conte came home on an error and Josh Miller score on Joe Monica’s sacrifice fly. Mitch’s (14-2) scored five runs with only four hits in the game, including Skatell’s double.

Mill Run (9-6) got a solo home run, his first of the season, from Grant Wortman and a double and triple from Brooks.
