Uniontown Legion defeats Carmichaels, 6-1

By The 2 min read

Lightning and rain cut Friday’s Fayette American Legion baseball game short, and Uniontown returned home with a 6-1 victory against Carmichaels.

Uniontown (11-0, 14-1) came out of the gate fast, scoring three runs in its first at-bat. Rich Pish drove in two runs with a double and Guiseppe Schiano singled in the third run.

The visitors added single runs in the top of the second, third and fourth innings.

Carmichaels scored its lone run in the bottom of the fifth. Jacob Wamsley led off with a single, the only hit allowed by winning pitcher Bobby Bricker. He broke for second on a steal attempt, but the throw sailed into the outfield, Wamsley continued to third and then scored when the throw to third went out of play.

Bricker (4-0) struck out four and walked none in the 6-inning victory.

Troy Kifer had an RBI triple, two singles and scored two runs for Uniontown. Pish singled along with his run-producing double, and Hudson Novak added a double and single.

Jacob Kinsell took the loss, allowing 11 hits with four strikeouts and four walks.
