Torbich stars as Colonials thump Frazier
Nate Torbich knocked in five runs with three hits, including a home run and a double, and was the winning pitcher as Albert Gallatin stormed past visiting Frazier, 11-4, in a non-section baseball game on Saturday.
The Colonials rallied from a 3-1 deficit with a run in the third, five in the fourth when Torbich hit a three-run homer, and four in the fifth when Joey Embacher and Dylen Over both hit two-run doubles.
Groover collected three hits while Alex Stoy, R.J. Hlatky, Embacher and Dylen Over each had two for AG (4-12).
Logan Muzina had three hits, including a pair of doubles, and Timmy Sedok hit a solo home run for the Commodores (0-15). JD Celascii contributed a double and a single.
Muzina and Delascii both had RBIs in Frazier’s two-run first. Russell Potter reached base three times and score twice for the Commodores.
Torbich allowed six hits and two walks with seven strikeouts.
Losing pitcher Cody Morris struck out three and walked four.
Albert Gallatin hosts Jefferson-Morgan on its Senior Day, Monday, at 6 p.m. at Appalachian Community Center, while Frazier travels to Charleroi for a 4 p.m. game.
