Sanner honored

Seton Hill University redshirt senior Mallory Sanner was named the Atlantic Region Field Athlete of the Year for the 2015 outdoor track & field season by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). The Uniontown graduate broke the PSAC record in the javelin while winning the title with a throw of 50.20 meters (164-8).

Sanner enters next week’s NCAA Division II Track & Field Championships as the No. 4 seed. The record-breaking throw in the PSAC Championships was the tenth-best on the all-time NCAA Division II performers list.

Jon Morrow, Sanner’s coach at Seton Hill, was honored as the Atlantic Region’s Assistant Coach of the Year. Morrow had two throwers qualify for the national meet, Sanner and Belle Vernon graduate Jessica Slagus.
