Ringgold 5, West Mifflin 3 — Ringgold held off West Mifflin, 5-3, on Thursday at West Mifflin in Section 3-AAA action.

Leading 3-2 after three innings, Ringgold (1-0, 2-0) tacked on two in the fourth to lead, 5-2. West Mifflin scored a run in the seventh to narrow the gap, but couldn’t plate the tying run.

Sam Polaski earned the win. She had two strikeouts and six walks. Teammates Taylor Mendicino and Lauren Gohacki had two doubles.

West Mifflin’s Amber Cook and Annie Modrick doubled.

Modrick took the loss from the pitching circle. She had five strikeouts and one walk.

The Lady Rams are on the road today at Albert Gallatin in a non-section game.

The Lady Titans fall to 0-1 in section play and 3-1 overall.
