West Greene closes Ripken Experience with win
West Greene scored all the runs it needed in the first inning to close the Ripken Experience with an 11-2 victory Sunday against Boyd County (Ky.).
The Lady Pioneers took a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning, but Boyd County countered with a run in the top of the second.
West Greene found its bats again in the bottom of the fifth inning for five runs and then scored three more in the sixth.
Boyd County added a run in the top of the sixth inning.
McKenna Lampe had a single, was walked three times and scored three runs in the victory. Kaitlyn Rizor and Bailey Bennington both had a single, double, two RBI and a run scored.
Lexie Mooney also had two RBI.
Renner pitched all seven innings, scattering nine hits with six strikeouts and one walk.
Kaitlin Sergent had a triple for Boyd. Aryanna Canroy took the loss, striking out four and walking two.
