Rohannas have mixed results
Rachel Rohanna had a rough second round in the LPGA Q School Thursday, while Robert Rohanna started strong in the opening round of the Shell Championship.
Rachel Rohanna shot 6-over 78 on the LPGA International Hills course in Daytona Beach, Fla., for a two-round total of 8-over 152.
The Waynesburg Central graduate started the day tied for 72nd, but slid down into a tie for 133rd.
Mel Reid and Nasa Hataoka share the second-round lead at 11-under 133. The top 75 golfers (and ties) advance to the next round.
She couldn’t stay away from the big number in the second round with a triple bogey-8 on the back nine. Rohanna had two double bogeys in the first round.
Rohanna had five bogeys and two birdies to go with the triple.
Meanwhile, Robert Rohanna started the PGA Tour Latinoamerica event in Miami, Fla., with a 2-under 69 to sit in a fifth-place tie.
Case Cochran and Kelvin Day share the first-round lead at 4-under 67.
Rohanna had two birdies and two bogeys on the front, and two birdies on the back.
