Ringgold comeback stalls Central Valley
Ringgold overcame a 3-0 first-period deficit with three goals in each the second and third periods in a 6-4 win over Central Valley in a Varsity Division II PIHL game Thursday night at the Beaver Ice Arena.
Anthony Vavasori got the ball rolling for the Rams with a goal on an Emery Anden pass 1:48 into the second period.
About 10 minutes later, Devin Brown got the first of his two goals, the first one unassisted, the second a short-handed goal on a pass from Noah Schroeder at 16:42 that closed the gap to 4-3 through two periods.
Anden scored two goals 15 seconds apart, both on passes from Clayton Colecchi to put the Rams ahead for the first time, 5-4, at 9:42 of the third period.
Todd Nathan got the last goal, with assists from Schroeder and Brown, at 12:34 to cap the comeback win.
Ringgold improved to 5-3-1 in the Varsity Division II standings, while Central Valley fell to 4-3-1.
Walter Scott scored twice, while Christian Bohon and Anthony Santilli got one each for Central Valley.
Evan Cook took over in goal for Ringgold and inherited a 3-0 deficit, but he limited Central Valley to one goal the rest of the way while making 14 saves on 15 shots.
OLSH 11, Elizabeth Forward 9: Our Lady of the Sacred Heart overcame 2-0, 3-1 and 4-2 deficits with the only three goals scored in the second period.
OLSH then scored three of the first four goals in the third period of a wild PIHL game Thursday night.

OLSH offered a more balanced attack, as three players scored two goals each and five other players scored once each. Alex Elinoff was the points leader with five on two goals and three assists.
The game was cleanly played, as only seven penalties were called, including only one — a two-minute roughing penalty — against Elizabeth Forward.
