Gateway girls hand LH 81-17 defeat

The Gateway girls scored all the points they needed in the first eight minutes Saturday afternoon as the Lady Gators defeated Laurel Highlands, 81-17, in the second day of the FCCA Tip-Off Tournament.

Gateway (2-0) led 23-5 after the first quarter. The Lady Gators extended their lead to 41-12 at halftime and led 69-14 after three quarters.

Gateway’s Jordan Edwards and Cierra Christian shared game-scoring honors with 15 points apiece.

Kylie Miller scored four points for Laurel Highlands (0-2).
