Colonials down Thomas Jefferson, 38-28, in Section 2-AAA (2A) wrestling action

The Colonials won their Section 2-AAA (2A) opener on Wednesday at Thomas Jefferson, 38-28.

After losing the first bout via decision at 220, Albert Gallatin (1-0) reeled off three straight wins for a 15-3 lead.

Corey Dodson (285) edged Dustin Lanning, 1-0, and Denver Rollinson (106) pinned Jimmy Mulenga in 2:58. Grant Lindsey won by forfeit at 113.

Kellen Lynch put a halt to the Colonials’ momentum with a 10-2 major decision over Harley Constable at 120.

D.J. Wallace won by fall in 1:37 at 126 and teammate Christian Stone picked up an 8-0 major decision over Noah Lynch at 132.

AG’s Hunter Milligan topped Alex Weber, 7-5, at 145, and the Colonials’ Mike Standish pinned Mario Donatelli in 1:54.

Fresh off winning a gold medal in the Chartiers-Houston tournament, Tim Wallace earned a 9-0 major decision for coach Duane Dupont’s squad at 170.
