Charleroi put on a fierce second-half comeback, but it came up short in Tuesday’s 55-52 loss to Brentwood in the Lady Trojan Tournament at California High School.

Brentwood (6-0) stayed undefeated on the young season, while Charleroi fell to 5-2.

Brentwood built a 32-18 halftime lead with 19-9 and 13-9 quarter scoring mariaedges, but Charleroi came back with a 15-10 advantage in the third quarter and won the fourth 19-13, but the lead was too much to overcome.

Emma Betz led Brentwood with 16 points, Natalie Murrio followed with 11 and Rebecca Dirling added 10.

Maria Claybaugh led all scorers with 19 points for the Lady Cougars, while Sierra Short added 12 and Kaitlyn Riley 11.
