By The 1 min read

Kass Taylor led all scorers with 30 points and picked up tournament MVP honors in leading California boys basketball to a 74-44 non-section victory over Bentworth to win the Bentworth Holiday Tournament on Wednesday at Bentworth High School.

The Trojans were never in danger and took an 11-5 lead over the Bearcats in the first quarter. Cal extended its lead to 37-17 at the half and led 52-32 after three.

In addition to Taylor, teammate Jaycee Conaway (11) and Johnny DeFranco (10) were in double figures for the Trojans.

Bentworth’s Steven Harner led his team in scoring with 23 points, including five 3-pointers.

The Trojans return to action on Tuesday when they travel to Chartiers-Houston.
