Lady Lions bow out of PSUAC playoffs

The Penn State Fayette, The Eberly Campus women’s basketball team fell behind at halftime and was unable to rally in the second half Wednesday night in an 89-75 loss in the first round of the PSUAC playoffs to visiting Penn State Brandywine.

The Lady Roaring Lions (13-10) led 16-15 after the first quarter, but the visitors pushed into a 35-33 halftime lead. Penn State Brandywine controlled the second half, 54-42, for the win.

Penn State Fayette’s Haley Moreland scored a game-high 25 points. Ally Rudolph finished with 15 and Taylor Smith added 13.

Lauren Munro led Penn State Brandywine (17-8) with 20 points.

California (Pa.) 83, Gannon 78 — The Vulcans trailed by six after the first quarter, but rallied into a 34-32 halftime lead and then held off the home team in the second half for a PSAC West victory.

California (16-4, 19-5) outscored Gannon in the third quarter, 18-17, as well as in the fourth quarter, 31-29.

Seairra Barrett (21) and Shatara Parsons (20) both topped 20 points for the Vulcans. Miki Glenn finished with 18 and Paige Wright added 10.

Jennie Thies led Gannon (14-6, 16-8) with a game-high 26 points. McKenna Shives added 20.
