Fast Lane on road to WrestleMania

The Royal Rumble has been the beginning of the “Road to WrestleMania” for years now, but in recent years the WWE has been putting more of an emphasis on its February Pay-Per-View.

Tonight’s show, titled Fast Lane, is a great example of how the company is keeping fans guessing of the outcomes of the different matches.

In the past, fans could easily speculate what the matches would be, but can anyone truly say that they think this will happen or that that will take place?

The main event is a triple threat match with the winner earning a spot in the main event at Mania challenging Triple H for the WWE title.

Roman Reigns, Brock Lesnar, and Dean Ambrose will square off, and while Reigns has always been the heavy favorite, the WWE has given unique twists the last few weeks to give the fans doubt.

Will the WWE go with a Triple H and Lesnar rematch from Mania 29?

Could it go with Ambrose as an ultimate underdog to win the title?

Odds are that the WWE will still go with Reigns, as Vince McMahon is still determined to make fans love him, and in Vince’s eyes, a win over Triple H would do just that.

The undercard is also solid, and by Monday morning, we will all have a better idea of what the WrestleMania card will look like.

Expect a few surprises tonight or tomorrow on Raw as the “Road to WrestleMania” picks up speed in the Fastlane.

Undertaker’s opponent at Mania

Speaking of Mania matches, there have been rumblings about who will face the Undertaker at “the Granddaddy of Them All.”

The original plan was for Taker to take on John Cena, but Cena has been out of action because of shoulder surgery and word was that he would be out for several more months.

However, Cena tweeted out this week about taking chances, so the buzz is that he will do his best to be ready for the show to give it a dream match that fans will clamor for.

A name thrown around for years has been Sting, but no one is sure how healthy he is after being hurt last summer in a match against Seth Rollins.

Another name picking up steam is Goldberg as the WWE feels that he would still have drawing power.

A name that hasn’t been talked about much is Kurt Angle.

Would he return to the company after 10 years in TNA for his swan song?

Daniel Bryan’s role?

Last week, we looked at possible roles for Daniel Bryan now that he has retired as an in-ring competitor.

Several fans emailed me with ideas and some have included Bryan playing the role of commissioner, a manager, or a goodwill ambassador.

In an email, Fred from Uniontown made a great point about how Bryan could overshadow wrestlers if given a weekly prominent role.

I agree. However, if used right, he could help elevate younger stars and help them become popular by being paired with them.

New wwe.com

The WWE sent out a press release Thursday afternoon about it revamped website, www.wwe.com.

WWE’s new cruiserweight initiative

Earlier this week, the WWE announced that a new series, the Global Cruiserweight Series, will debut this summer on the WWE Network.

The show, which will debut on July 13, will be a 32-man tournament that will last several months.

Special birthday wish

I would like to take a moment to send out an early happy birthday wish to my soon-to-be nine-year old niece, Abbey.

It has been a tough year for my biggest fan, but she is a brave kid and my inspiration.

The best part about this birthday wish is that I know she will smile and give her patented chuckle as she reads this!

Happy birthday Ab, and I love you…THIS MUCH!!!
